Poem Twenty Three: Mirror

April 23, 2025 by ava love

Poem Draft: Mirror Poem

*

*

I am the fruit of the dead.

The decay of bud to fruit.

I wear a crown

of darkness.

Summon the spell

of the soul

as it leaves the body.

Place coins on the eyes

of the dead. You

who once held

beauty, sound, and breath-

now gone.

You can never see

your true self.

I mirror you

in reverse.

I am the one

others circle.

 Will your mountains

 and rivers remain?
